Diagnosing and Managing ARFID - A Comprehensive Course

The Step-by-Step Kidz Nutrition team specialises in paediatric food allergy, intolerances, growth faltering and feeding diffi

This online, introductory short course on Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) provides practical information on nutrition and ARFID-related healthcare, incorporating up-to-date research.

ARFID is characterised by a pattern of feeding or eating that avoids certain foods or food groups and/or restricting quantity. As a relatively new eating disorder, the course recognises the need to educate healthcare professionals.

The course has been created in partnership with ARFID Awareness UK, by a team with experience in practice and higher education and who are active in research.

Designed specifically for healthcare professionals, you’ll explore the challenges in diagnosis of ARFID; nutritional, psychological, sensory-motor and medical assessment, as well as management of ARFID from a multidisciplinary team’s perspective:

Topics:
•    Diagnosis of ARFID and overlap with other medical conditions
•    Nutritional, psychological, sensory-motor and medical assessment
•    Dietary, psychological and sensory-motor-skill management
•    The models of support for individuals with ARFID
